The disarray in the Nationals’ bullpen reached a bizarre and self-inflicted new height Monday night. After the Nationals’ 8-0 loss to the Giants, Manager Davey Johnson revealed that set-up man Ryan Mattheus had broken his right hand Sunday when he punched his locker after a dreadful performance, landing him on the disabled list and leaving the Nationals scrambling for fresh arms.

The Phils-Nats relationship is that of the little brother growing bigger than the big brother who used to give him noogies. If/when the Phils fall into the toilet in the next (or next few) year(s), it will be interesting to see if the Nats fans ascend** on CBP.
** If Philly is north of DC, the fans couldn't descend, could they?
Philly is the pit of hell so I'd say descend is the proper word.
bloomberg really took a turn a year or so ago. i think a bunch of old newsweek writers got hired or something because half of their articles giving the view of the writer are some kind of 'tax the rich' theme
very disappointing change

So is Bloomberg just following the demand of the marketplace, or are they now traitors to their class? Either explanation works for me.
Or maybe it's just sour grapes from a Phrontrunning Phillie Phanatic. Those types are found in all income classes, and it needs no further explanation.
Poltics had been a second or third tier topic on Bloomie before that. The shift Harvey & Andy see has been so pronounced it could only have come with Mike's blessing, IMO. I seriously doubt it's just becuase of a few new writers.
Yeah, and in truth what I wrote in #6 was just a hit-and-run bit of fluff. I don't really think that there's any tie-in between this column and any overall political philosophy. This guy's just a disgruntled Phillies fan.
I'm not sure, I agree with the above assessments on the slant of the Bloomberg view articles. They publish a ton of commentary from all sides of the political spectrum, including stuff so out there that the NYT or WSJ would be embarrassed to publish it.
And then there are the teams, whose fans are annoying whether they're winning or not. The Phillies and Red Sox come to mind.
