Wow. Emilio Bonifacio looks like Adrian Beltre. Just in the face. Never noticed that before.

And Teheran hit Rendon. Even this Braves fan thinks he's asking for it.
As in life and love, timing is everything.
I just think the Nats may be just as unhappy with a nonintentional HBP at this point, especially by Teheran.
I am really really enjoying John Smoltz on the TBS broadcast. Is he always this good?
Max Scherzer about to get to Roy Face-level W-L totals. If he finishes the season with one loss, he'll win the Cy Young, right? Regardless of WAR, ERA +, etc.?
Since Aug. 9th, Alexi Ramirez has three home runs. In that time period, the entirety of the Boston Red Sox has four. Ortiz (3), Napoli (1).
Here's the weirdest thing I've ever written: great AB by Paul Janish.
Sometimes crappy bands make great songs.
But it beats talking about yet another ####### loss to the ####### Braves, for ####'s sake.
Then there are the bands that you thought were crappy one-hit wonders that actually turn out, upon closer inspection, to be quite marvelous
In order to cheer up Eso I want to point out that the Nats didn't lose to the Atlanta Braves today so much as they lost to the Gwinnett Brabes.
I look forward to "cheering you up" when the Braves inevitably lose in the first round of the playoffs whilst playing in a sparsely attended, mostly-indifferent Turner Field.
The playoffs might not be a total loss for you. They may get Bryce Harper to do in booth color or something!
The Pirates played 14 innings on Tuesday, 12 on Thursday, and now at least 15 today.
Is Kris Johnson really hitting for himself?!
Other than maybe using Gerrit Cole I don't know what else they could have done. And had they pinch hit and somehow tied the game and sent it to a 17th I don't know who they could have had pitch. The only reason Johnson was called up today was because with all the extra inning games the Pirates have played this week, combined with a couple very short starts in some other games, they were running out of pitchers. They had several guys in the bullpen that they weren't going to use today at all. So what other choice did they have?
Explanatory edit: The Pirates' lineup is weak and their pitching, which has been carrying them this year, is wearing out. They've been blown out a few times the past couple weeks, but mostly they're losing because they can't score runs. And no surprise; McCutchen is the only really good hitter in their lineup and, guys playing over their heads so far notwithstanding, everyone else varies from pretty good but flawed (Alvarez) to mediocre (Martin) to below average for their position (Marte, Jones/Sanchez, Walker) to a black hole (Barmes/Mercer, Right Fielder Du Jour).
There is no excuse for not tossing Dempster. That was the most intentional HBP possible.
I don't like the Yankees, but I think Girardi got hosed.
