The 12-year-old version of me can't stop giggling.
Let’s dispense with political niceties here. While the Cardinals market the Chicago Cubs as their traditional rival, the Reds are the team with bite, the enemy with edge, the team that offers the most legitimate challenge within an improved division.
The Cubs are a drinking game. The Reds are nine innings in the octagon.
Of course this is the part of the season where the Cardinals have traditionally fallen out of the playoff race in the past few years
They've made the playoffs three of the last four years and have a recent Series title. Your concern is face-punchable.
Noooope! Too early. You have to wait until July for the standings to hold any meaning. Get back to us then.
Pretty much the White Sox, Angels and Padres that could still make it...
One happy side-effect of my divorce from the Nationals
For example, I really enjoyed watching Puig do his thing last night. Of course, Vin Scully had much to do with that as well. Few other teams have a Vin Scully.
I found it interesting that as soon as Bonifacio reached first, Buck and Tabler started talking about a delayed steal. And sure enough, after two or three pitches, it happened.
Puig = pu-weeg
Let's just say that I'm done with the Nationals because they have had numerous chances to do not-stupid things, and done the stupid thing anyway.
I've had to switch off of mlb.tv to gameday. How exactly did Profar advance Andrus two bases on a bunt? DeRosa charging in and no one covering third?
Andrus stole 2nd.
I'm telling you, no one wants this game to end.
Jesus Christ, Lind... at least take a decent lead and TRY to score... damnit !
Can't believe Lind didn't give that a shot. And the game goes on.
They pinch-hit Thole for DeRosa. The walk-off HR is foiled! (Nice try, says Gibbons)
Thole in at first and Encarnacion at third. I honestly might be more comfortable with the opposite.
