Kole Calhoun is a an awesome baseball name.
Catchers can hang around a long damn time, can't they?
What do you think the highest reasonable chance is, given the current playoff schedule? Not for the Tigers, but for any team.
Could be an awesome baseball player, or at least a pretty good one. With Trout, Hamilton, and Bourjos there, and Trumbo hanging around, the outfield's getting crowded in Anaheim.
Wesley Wright traded to Tampa in the middle of the Astros game.
Does it look like Atlanta is going to delayed by rain?
I just looked and saw Prospectus has the Tigers as a 25% chance to win the World Series.
What do you think the highest reasonable chance is, given the current playoff schedule? Not for the Tigers, but for any team. Assume the playoffs started today, so there's no potential collapse that puts them out of the playoffs or in as a play-in game contestant. Let's say there was one dominant team - like a 110 win juggernaut. What is the highest reasonable number you'd put on that team, at the start of the playoffs?
Gaaah. The Yankees are the crappiest above .500 team I ever seen in a long time.
Just when I think there are no new avenues of pain to explore, Angels open up a whole new city block of pain in losing this game.
You just need to get to where I did when the Nats and the Mariners were putting up the worst records in baseball during the same consecutive years: ironically detach and learn to enjoy the new and ever-more-improbable or humiliating ways your team can lose.

Tom Prince averaged 80 plate appearances over 17 seasons.
Oh my -- Jose Iglesias just made an incredible play. Jam-shot hit right over the pitcher's glove; Igleias charges and, despite the ball taking one hop with spin away from Iglesias' general momentum, is able to bare-hand and throw out Phegley with his body nearly parallel to the ground. My description doesn't do the play justice - it's worth checking out.
