The Orioles ball girl just fielded a fair ball in left field.
It's not like Gio was getting Freeman out anyway.
#12 - When I hear talk about "underrated" or "unknown", I ask myself "by whom?" It's just a story telling device used as a segue to talk about a player.
Edwin Jackson is such a miserable pitcher to watch. Even when he doesn't give up runs, it seems like he's racking up deep-count at-bats.
To be fair, none of Harper's CS were on straight steal attempts - 2 pickoffs (both on 2nd) and an attempt to advance on a ball in the dirt
Well that's just it - he's had no steal attempts despite being on base 15+ times.
I was going to suggest he might not be stealing because of people behind him, but looking at where he bats in this lineup, makes that unlikely. It also made me think...why is Harper the one being moved around the lineup? He's batted 5th, 2nd, and 6th so far this season, he was the teams second best hitter last year, you don't willy nilly move a guy around the lineup, especially a franchise guy.
Honest answer = not "a lot" of weird crap, but his ever-changing batting orders have ignited a lot of discussion. Compared to Davey Johnson with 162 pre-printed lineup cards he got from Kinko's on a special deal, Matty has moved guys up and down the batting order and swapped in some bench guys ostensibly to get better matchups.
Up 5 in the 8th, Heyward steals second.
Gary Cohen is now talking about the 2012 MVP race. Please shut up.
I'm assuming Trout/Cabrera argument again, and how stat guys are doody heads?
Not that bad. More that stats are good, but can't tell you everything. And that Cabrera's offense for some reason has more intangible value than Trout's.
Bourjos with a triple to lead off the inning (after the Cubs tied it up 3-3) I hope he actually shows up offensively this year, his defense hasn't shown up yet.
David Freese is hitting .154/.227/.231, so the Cardinals are still coming out way ahead here.
In at least one prediction, I had the Brewers making the post season. I don't think they are that far off from being a good team.
Nice to see wacha getting a bigger strike zone than jackson today
A nice day to be working at the desktop and following Internet sports :)
Unfortunate that the pen let up two in the previous inning.
I don't know which outfielder was going for it,
Do plays like that get scored as a hit for BA purposes and an out for OBP purposes? Or is it just a safe hit in every sense and the out is a miscellaneous baserunning item?
