Here's hoping he somewhat keeps pace, because Crush Davis is a pretty cool nickname in this era of hyphenated birth names "nicknames."
The opposite approach (one that was used by Albert Belle and Manny Ramirez) is to constantly hit outside sliders from a pitching machine.
I certainly hope the person who was so offended by the nickname "Dominant Brown" comes in to lament "Crush Davis" as well.
A pitching machine can be programmed to throw sliders? I did not know that. Did either player ever state why that pitch, and in that location?
Looking forward to a great season by my main bro, Cri-Dave
If Davis’s .409 batting average on balls in play were to hold, it would tie for the eighth-highest mark by any hitter since 1900.
Davis is hitting .356/.436/.740 so far in 2013. On a park-, league-, and era-adjusted basis, that’s tied for the 19th-best season in baseball history.
Isn't their a AAA team called the Sea Dogs; up in Maine somewhere I think?
