“I really don’t think people are going to care about that game.”
Why can't the Ravens play on a Wed night to start the season like the Giants-Cowboys did last year?
Rex is just speaking for the average NFL fan. Which is to say, most NFL fans are like Rex Ryan.
“Well who really cares, you’ve got 81 at home, maybe you could have done the right thing and given one up and then played 82 on the road and then 80 at home,” he said. “I really don’t think people are going to care about that game.”
It's hard not to see the Ravens' original position basically amounting to "We're the NFL, and you're not."
Nobody is stopping the Ravens from playing a night game on Sept. 5.
When they moved out of Queens and into "Giants Stadium," it really bothered me. It was like they lost part of their identity as the underdogs.
Is that true? I wouldn't be surprised that the city of Baltimore has some sort of rule about the two teams playing at the same time. I think you are asking for major traffic problems and security issues otherwise.
It wouldn't be quite at the same time - the O's would play in the afternoon, Ravens at night.
To be fair, most Ravens fans appear to be pissed off at Goodell for not playing on Wednesday. Probably because there's a Ravens/Orioles crossover, so those people can actually understand the Orioles' point of view.
And the Lions, who crashed and effing burned to a 4-12 record last year, have the second-toughest schedule. The hell?
Philly has kinda the same setup as KC I think, two stadiums but tons of parking.
Is that after the decision had been made not to move the O's game? I have a suspicion while the decision was still up in the air they were probably doing the whole "NFL IS NFL AND MLB IS MLB SO NFL SHOULD WIN" thing. But maybe not! This is Baltimore, gentlemen: the scheduling gods will not save you
