Obviously the results haven't been there and I see it, but it's not like I'm not working. Sometimes I overwork on stuff and try to see the results so quick.
Man, Romero's fall from "guy putting up pretty good ERAs in the majors" to "guy scuffling and putting up a 1:1 K:BB ratio" to "guy without a major league job" happened pretty fast. Not as amazingly fast as, say, Jair Jurrjens. But still fast.
It was almost exactly a year ago that I picked him to win the Cy Young in 2012.
This is what frustrates me about spring training for pitchers. You're supposed to develop your pitches, then this happens when you're not successful fast enough.
The Blue Jays are trying to win the AL East, they can't give chances to someone who looks like Daniel Cabrera out there. If this season's goal was 78 wins like the last few Toronto seasons, maybe they would keep giving Romero chances to figure it out in the majors.
