Gary Thorne will get to hear those things at home or perhaps on a golf course just like the Orioles players.
Yep, he will, just like the television broadcasters of every major league team.
Serious question: Are the 2013 Red Sox the most hideous team ever? ...
All disgusting human beings, and I'm sure I've left out some other fugs. If they still had Pukeilis, game over.
Are the 2013 Red Sox the most hideous team ever?
As Gary Thorne said last night, this tells you two things:
1. We're going to have to hear about this Red Sox beard 'thing' all during the playoffs
2. The Red Sox have a thousand tickets to give away for a game in September.
Serious question: Are the 2013 Red Sox the most hideous team ever?
I mean, this is a team that, until earlier this year, had been lying for years about a sellout streak. And they only stopped this year after some negative press coverage.
I don't really give two whits about attendance
Stupid stuff is often fun. People like having fun.
Going out in public dressed in a team jersey is bad enough.
Agree, Jose, but on the other hand, as a fellow Red Sox fan I can acknowledge that the last 10 years have seen total over-saturation of all things Red Sox in the media, so I get it that anything like this is just another thing for fans of the other 29 teams to roll their eyes at. I'm sympathetic to that.
Buck and McCarver are going to beat SOME narrative to death this fall. Might as well be my teams butt ugly facial hair.
Nice, looking past the Divisional Series already?
Maybe I’m wrong, but I thought TBS did all the divisional series, with their own train wreck crews.
I'm pretty good at not being bothered by oversaturation of media stuff. I don't watch ESPN at all so the various complaints about Favre then Lebron are a non-issue for me and I don't listen to sports radio so that stupidity doesn't get to me either. In my experience if you knock out the non-live event stuff from your sports watching you don't lose anything and you gain not wanting to punch your fellow man in the face.
So much sports and celebrity coverage seems designed to get your face-punching hand warmed up that I assume people actually see that as a bonus. People (men, mostly) just like getting riled up - I really can't think of any other explanation for why talk radio exists.
