Fangraphs has it a little different:
Generally don't ever look at fangraphs, anybody that thinks fip ERA is practical for a value stat(war for pitchers) and uses wpa as anything other than a gimmick stat, can't be trusted in other areas of analysis. (In political terms that is like knowing a political party is factually wrong on evolution, marriage and global warming, which makes you distrust their ideas economics, immigration and other stuff)
That's fair. I take all of their pitcher stuff lightly, but I really like wOBA as an offensive stat, so I tend to give them a look when it comes to offensive production
I'm curious as to why. Not critical I just don't understand this stat's popularity.
So we’ve had about half of what is clearly a historic season from Davis.
