cup-title double at Inter
Actually, he won the treble with Inter.
“En mi carrera he tenido dos grandes pasiones: Inter y Chelsea”
The Navas deal is a bit of a surprise, as it has long been the story that he is so high strung and closely tied to Sevilla and Andalucia that he wouldn't be effective elsewhere in Spain, let alone overseas.
Their players worry me, but he seems like a man who has lost his mojo.
Navas is one of my favorite players
I don't follow non LFC clubs' transfer rumours much, but I can say LFC has been rhymin and stealin in La Liga and Portugal already and I'm sure other clubs are doing the same.
At heart in the confusion was the composition of Groups 7 and 8 in the draw. Despite keeping the Mexican and American clubs apart in the group stage during the 2012-13 CCL, Group 7 included Mexican team Club Tijuana and the Houston Dynamo, while Group 8 consisted of the LA Galaxy and Mexico's Cruz Azul. Since both groups had two Mexican teams and two American teams, they could not simply be redrawn with each other. This required four groups to be redrawn.
Yeah, of course there's Mata and Cazorla, but also Swansea's bargain buy of Michu.
Australia remain 2nd and in good shape to qualify.
Martinez is in a tough spot. The best he can hope for realistically is 5th and that's going to be a stretch.
Its hard to find good central defenders nowadays, much less three who are mobile
Does he always play a back 3? One thing I liked about Moyes, he and his teams had the ability to vary formations depending on the opponent.
Man City are going to sign Fernandinho from Shakhtar for probably a little north of 30 million pounds putting their spending in the first week of the market at north of 50 million. Shakhtar have also signed Wellington Nem (a sometimes Tottenham target) and Fernando (from Gremio) to replace them. Shakhtar does a hell of a business buying Brazilians and then selling them off. It's weird.
The new Liverpool away kit is...
I just mean it's weird that Shakhtar will probably bring in more Brazilians directly from Brazil this summer than the entire EPL.
It really seems like the prem will play the role of the giant player-sucking vacuum this silly season.
That's the word. Mr. Baldini, please bring Bradley, Marquinho and Lamela with you. Thanks much!
The club have taken on board feedback from our fan base and following discussions between Chairman Phil Gartside and several local and national politicians, including Leader of Bolton Council Cliff Morris, will no longer be entering into a sponsorship agreement with QuickQuid.
#71 is an incredible read, thank you for the link.
The world needs more footballers like Balotelli.
"I have to play my part in it too. I don't want to be the man who asks him to come here and get Champions League unless I can support you.
"Myself and the board will be doing all we can to support Roberto."
It just came out that the English Premier League earned $3.7b in the last year. The last numbers I've found for MLB is $227m per team, which adds up to $6.9b for the whole league. Do I have those numbers right? Is MLB that much bigger as a whole?
Wouldn't surprise me, the 162 round season + postseason keeps the money flowing.
It is a massive disadvantage. It's why only 2 or 3 teams a year have a chance to win the league. If you're the fan of a club that's not in that top 3, you find other goals to celebrate and focus more on the process.
Considering the size of England, the EPL does pretty great for itself.
It also helps to be a monopoly in the world's third highest populated country. Considering the size of England, the EPL does pretty great for itself.
I mostly agree with this. On the other hand, they're probably the most popular sports league in the world, right?
Right, but I don't think that's a product of market size as most of the Yankees championships came before there was free movement of players and before television contracts drove revenue. If the Cubs or Pirates had come up with Lou Gehrig and Yogi Berra and Mickey Mantle, etc. they could have been the Yankees.
I am curious, do European leagues such as the EPL have a league-wide TV contract or is it every team for itself?
League wide, much to the big clubs' chagrin.
