as a casual to semi-hardcore fan, i was elated that rick peterson was the front runner. i wonder what happened in the last couple days to change that.

Whatever it is they're doing with pitchers on the South Side, I want a part of it. I'm excited about Nieves based on associations alone. Peterson might have been cool, but there's a downside with Peterson that is really atypical for members of a coaching staff.

Keep in mind that any decision Farrell makes is almost certainly the wrong one.

Nice, please, please, please bring the faster pitching style that the White Sox seem to do. Not sure if it's just a Buehrle thing but I love seeing guys catch the ball and throw; the Sox have been way too slow to the plate in the past few years.

Seconded. I do not for the life of me understand the idea of waiting around and then throwing. Work fast, change speeds, throw strikes, this ain't rocket science.

Beckett and Dice-K were probably the worst offenders and they're gone, so it should get a little better at least. It was pretty epidemic throughout the whole staff, though. Buchholz has always had weird issues with guys on base.
