This would excite me if I had no memories of the 2006 ALCS. I love Lou, but my god, he was a snooze in the booth.

He has a nasaly voice also, which sounds like a non-issue, but when you're considering whether to offer someone a broadcasting job, it really should come into account.
Maybe Lou and Sterling could work up a ventriloquist number where Lou's words get channeled through Sterling's velvet vocal chords. Talk about killing two birds with one stone.
I think the Yankees have a good set of analysts already, and Lou's voice is definitely annoying. I'll be okay with it as long as he takes more games from Flaherty (who's just not very good) or O'Neill (who also has an annoying voice, though I like his work) rather than the pitchers and Singleton, who are just great.

Here's a list of his comments deemed insensitive. I don't know... I'm Italian and I laughed at his Sal Fasano comment.
Assuming Piniella still lives in Tampa, YES should be able to save on the hotel & per diem charges for the games he works there!
