Hopefully AA hires someone soon before journalists in Toronto link every last retired player, active coach, jobless manager, or just every last breathing person to the job.
Mazzilli as a manager was all hat, no cattle. Our recurring image of Maz back in the Birds in the Belfry days was a photo of Maz sitting on his hands on the bench, staring out at the field. Own coaches or not, he was a total joke as a manager. I'd love to see the Jays hire him, except I have a soft spot for Toronto since I lived and worked there for a year back in the early eighties.
I was a bit confused by the article...was he saying that two of the Orioles' coaches said THEY should have been fired? Now THAT'S candor!

Rick Adair: "I should be fired. I've tried everything and Arrieta and Hunter still suck. Matusz was supposed to be the next Steve Avery and the only way he can contribute is as a lefty specialist. We were so lucky to pick up Saunders and that Mexican guy."
@jonmorosi - #Marlins opened season with a payroll of roughly $100MM. After this trade, non-arb 2013 obligations will be ~ $16MM. Historic salary dump.

So the Jays get Jose Reyes, Mark Buehrle, Josh Johnson, Jeffrey Loria, Jeff Conine, Edgar Renteria, Don Johnson, and Dan Marino, in exchange for a bunch of prospecty guys?
Sounds like a plan. And a great time for the jays to strike with the Red Sox where they are and the yankees where they are.
Yeah the Jays are getting stiffed here. Stanton and Bautista in the same lineup would be fun.
Seriously though....one HAS to wonder if AA said something like....."OK...so, what do we have to add to get that Stanton kid too?"...or if he didn't want to push his luck!
#32....should've tossed David Caruso in too.....missed a golden opportunity!
I assume the Jays asked for him and Dexter, but the Marlins had to keep some dignity.

Heck, throw in another $50k and I bet Loria will give the Jays Florida's two World Series titles, too.

Hmm, it would have to be Arencibia wouldn't it? I'm the first one to point out his flaws, but why would you want Bobby Wilson or Jeff Mathis?

Tracy? They'd be better off with the rabbi. Or a different, randomly-selected rabbi, for that matter.
Hired, not fired. He's saying that two of the Orioles' coaches thought they should have been hired as the manager.
Hmm...more likely they should have been fired.
Inclusion of Reyes unconfirmed. What we know: Buerhle and Josh Johnson to #BlueJays. Escobar, Hechavarria to #Marlins. And more both ways.
This is great: Jon Morosi ?@jonmorosi
The shorthand of this deal is something like this: If you are earning a big salary with the Marlins, you are now a Blue Jay.
One source told me Johnson, Buehrle, Reyes, Buck and Bonifacio are all going to #BlueJays. I am working to confirm this.
I really like Nicolino, but this is exactly the kind of thing a chit like him should be used for.
@jonmorosi - John Buck's inclusion in the deal is mostly for cash purposes, since #BlueJays have an abundance of catching depth already.
That makes it less sweet...but still gets my enthusiastic thumbs up!
Solid young OF prospect, but I think Toronto's cashing him in at the right time, and they should be able to spare him.
Nice deal for AA, even if it's sad to see scavengers pick the Marlins' bones.
So Bell is in on this too I presume?
Alright, I'm pissed off!!! Plain & Simple
EDIT: Coke.
Sounds like a plan. And a great time for the jays to strike with the Red Sox where they are and the yankees where they are.

Source: #Marlins will get Jacob Marisnick or Anthony Gose, as well as a catcher -- Arencibia, Wilson or Mathis.

It would be much funnier if it was Mathis.
This doesn't include whatever they're still paying Heath Bell.
Asked official with one of clubs if he has any concern that commissioner might kill the deal. His response: "None at all."
IT ####### IS!!!!!! This is AWESOME!
