Jon Heyman is also reporting that their are competing with the Indians for Nick Swisher.
Josh Hamilton to the Mariners would be a puzzler, no?
Josh Fields might be worth a flier for someone.
Seems like the pressure might be on Jack Z this offseason.
I haven't understood a single one of these Indians rumors. What in god's name are they doing?
Being desperate and not caring who knows it?
MLB reporting the Yanks have offered Youkilis 1/12 to join up!
Well, no prospect is a sure thing but it's a hell of a gamble for the Royals. AND they'll probably have to throw a sweetener in the deal, too! I don't know, for me, the only way the Royals ever get a transcendent star is if they develop one and I think they should take the chance to see how good Myers really is.
The Astros are expected to take LHP Braulio Lara with their first pick.
The Astros need to go to 76-86 to avoid losing 300 games in the 2011-13 period. If that happens the GM will probably fire himself for failing to completely bottom out.
The fact that Frenchy's presence is keeping Myers off the roster is like salt in an open wound.
Is this really true? I know they say it publicly, but the Royals can't really believe this, no?
It's like salt in an open wound when bandages and gauze and a sexy nurse to apply them are also within reach.
Dayton thought wearing a naughty costume to winter meetings might earn him some leverage in negotiations.
Royals fans may be alarmed at the prospect of losing Wil Myers, but should also admit they were worried that he'd follow the path of every other can't miss Royals prospect and require 2000 major-league at-bats to gradually become a passable hitter.
The Phillies took someone (Ender Inciarte) I have never heard of.
I wonder if Moore and the Royals' scouts just aren't that high on Myers, for whatever reason. This is a guy who hit the ever-loving crap out of the ball at two high levels and couldn't even earn a September call-up to a crummy team that was playing Jeff Francoeur in right field.
Of course, Moore has long since lost any benefit of the doubt, so I'm not inclined to shrug my shoulders and say, "They are his organization, they probably know best."
Anyone know much about the Cubs pick, Hector Rondon?
he's had big arm problems

TJ, followed by a broken elbow.
Revere is now seemingly on the block as the Twins look for pitching. Any pitching. Any whatsoever.
How does the minor league portion of the rule v work? They don't need to be in the big leagues. Do they need to stay on the 40 man or something?
My co-worker is 8.75 months pregnant with twins. She is from Minnesota and Ben Revere is her favorite player. I've met few fans who adore a player as much as she does him. The Denard Span trade made her sad enough but if Revere is traded before her babies arrive, I don't think I'll have the heart to tell her, for fear of adding to her stress. It may sound like I'm kidding but I'm not.

Who plays CF for the Twins now?
Vance Worley is immediately the Twins ace.
Of Ben Revere's 150 hits last year, 19 went for extra bases. Now that's some slappiness.
Red Sox sign Koji Uehara.
Who the heck is going to pay Michael Bourne now? Seems like his market is drying up pretty quickly here. Do the Mariners change course now that the demand (and presumably price) for Bourne might be in free fall?
Gotta give Terry Ryan credit. I never expected him to trade away BOTH centerfielders. Have to believe that Willinham and Morneau are also available.
Phils still need a third baseman, dammit.
MLB Network Radio ?@MLBNetworkRadio
Terry Ryan, Twins General Manager, tells us that they will listen to all offers on Joe Mauer & Justin Morneau. They need pitching
Koji going to Boston hurts. I love that guy.
The orioles should be all over Mauer. Tillman for Mauer and a few million?
