Jason Repko lost something in the offseason. He knew it. He felt it.

An outfielder for 14 seasons in professional baseball, including seven seasons spent in the majors, he lost the desire to be on the field every single day.

Part of the problem with "pitch to contact" and "trust your defense" is the Twins infield defense has been terrible lately. The corner OF has been bad as well. They could get away with a rotation full of 89MPH fastballs when they had great defenders around the diamond.

I am removing the Minnesota Twins from my official vocabulary. Informally, though, I may still refer to them as the Twinkies

Right, in the near future, the Twins will be removing "Pitch to Contact" from their vocabulary, but not from their pitching staff. While the theory is good, the practice means a lot more to me.
