1. Rafael Bellylard: Built like a Fielder posted on January 31, 2012 at 06:35 PM # hit 0 | hit 0Oh, you'll love this, Yankee fans.
Meanwhile, someone get them on the phone to talk about a deal for Soriano, STAT!
Maybe he'll just talk Cashman into stocking up on crap-hitting middle infielders.
Seriously...this looks similar to the Kevin Towers situation to me. Cashman has GM friends and likes to take care of them. All the better if they can provide some value to the team.
What he lacked was the ability to take an executive view of the franchise. He couldn't direct his employees to develop the farm as well as he did, he never figured out how to manage the roster, his managers needed managing, and the whole contract thing.
So yeah, the Yanks are doing fine to have this guy scouting potential in-season acquisitions or cross-checking scouts.
