Dayn misspelled Manu Ginobili.
Read More...Not only did the Angels on Tuesday night squander a rare-as-a-comet Joe Blanton gem, but they also lost at home in extras to the generally hapless Mariners. Looking for a main offender? It has to be Josh Hamilton.
Hamilton is of course struggling badly in 2013, but Tuesday’s performance may have been the worst of his career. Here’s his unfortunate line for the night: 0-for-5, 2 Ks, 3 GIDPs, 7 LOB. Sign of a bad game at the plate? When going 0-for-5 with five ...

Walt Davis posted on November 07, 2012 at 10:24 PM # hit 0 | hit 0While here he displayed a deep knowledge of pitching mechanics and seemed on the button in his assessments of (mostly ML) pitchers. It was easy to see how he would be employed as a (pitching) scout or roving minor-league instructor and maybe eventual ML pitching coach. But whether he knew anything about scouting hitters or managing people never really came up (for obvious reasons). CBW as future GM never would have occurred to me in those days. So just curious how he's done in that role.
Obviously well enough to get hired away but then again Allard Baird is still working somewhere. :-)
That's a pretty good haul of pitching prospects, although obviously all are very young and a long way away from the majors.

With the international signing cap, it's more important than ever to have good scouting abroad - I assume this means the Angels believe he's a good scout/administrator of scouts.
At the time of the DiPoto hire, there were suggestions that he might bring Gomez with him when he could; this was not a surprise.
Best of luck CBW.
Diamondbacks have a good collection of young arms right now. That certainly speaks well of Carlos. Angels now have two guys from the organization that traded Dan Haren for Pat Corbin and Tyler Skaggs. Remember how that trade was spinned as "trading for Joe Saunders because they overrate pitcher wins"?
As an aside, for a rookie who won 16 games, 125 ERA+, and near a 4-1 K-W ratio, Wade Miley sure has escaped attention.
:) Kidding. Congrats, Carlos, and good luck, if you're reading.
Congratulations and good luck!
That frustrated me to no end. (the incorrect spin, not the trade)
Let's not forget about the work of Ulillillia.
The circumstances suggest he's making a move to where he wants to be so I offer him a hearty congratulations.
