Does anyone else know who these folks are? The only one I can place is Garner, whose 15 minutes were back in the '90s and didn't have anything to do with sports.

I had an email exchange with George Castle once. He wrote a book on Lou Piniella and has been linked here before. I think he even popped up in the comments thread to it, too.

George Castle got yelled at by Lou Piniella last year.

Castle usually shows up if we link to his work. I read his "Million to One" book and found him to be a little too cynical for my taste. Just comes across that he really really hates the Tribune and all things Cubs. I also think that it also shows up in the works that get linked here as well. But he always seemed like a nice enough guy when he would show up here.

But as a Sox fan even I am not on this bandwagon. That said, my breath was bated till I ascertained that Jay Mariotti was not on that list.
