He's probably worth 12/year right now in his prime, but that's a long time you're expecting him to stay as a productive catcher. Yeah, but they could still move him to a big market team before then perhaps. I guess I'm contradicting myself.

I think it's a poor bet....the guy has had knee surgery already and is currently day to day with groin injury. The odds that he catches 600 games over the life of the deal are probably not all that great.
