Very cool that goldschmidt had the game winning triple
Now gotta go into philly and steal one.
(Assuming they don't catch brewers)
Off the top of my head, the favorite memory order goes:
1. Anything from 2001
2. The Perfect Game
3. The Ted Lilly glove slam
4. The Pool Party
5. That time I went was at the BOB and Mike Myers blew a lead. When the jumbo tron panned to the bullpen to show the next reliever entering the game and the top of the screen featured the Michael Myers mask-wearing fan (whatever happened to that guy?) giving the international 'choke' gesture.
He passed away
Sheehan probably had a more balanced take, crediting each of the last 4 GM's. Whether it was drafts under Joe Jr that brought in Drew, Upton, Montero,....Trades,drafts, and signings under Byrnes that brought in Kennedy, Young, Collmenter and Roberts, Dipoto bringing in Hudson and Saunders, (and some good minor league talent), or Towers bringing in Putz, Hernandez, Patterson, and Ziegler.....
No one GM can lay claim to "90%" of this roster.

I also think that the D'Backs put out what should be their regular lineup for the playoffs. It's not a particularly good one for a playoff team, but it's good enough to pull a surprise if they overachieve a bit.

Precisely. That's a testament to the GM(s). Assembling the right supporting cast is just as important as finding the star.
Towers deserves credit for doing a great job on the bullpen, despite his awful position player choices, which as always are partly forced on him by tightwad ownership. He also deserves credit for failing in his attempts to trade Upton.
Joe Jr. does not deserve credit for building teams bad enough to get consensus picks Drew and Upton. Colangelo deserves credit for paying up for drew, same for Kendrick and Upton. Give Joe Parra and Montero.
Dipoto deserves credit for the brilliant Hudson trade forced on him by ownership.
But the linchpin was the two for one Scherzer trade that brought Kennedy and made the Hudson trade possible. Goldschmidt, Roberts, Johnson, Chris Young, Collmenter, etc, Byrnes did far more to make this team than Towers.
I'm happy to see Aaron Hill and John McDonald get a chance in the post-season.
