AZ Republic: Mark Grace pleads guilty to Scottsdale DUI

Mark Grace, in court Thursday, pleaded guilty to endangerment and DUI, avoiding what could have been a lengthy prison sentence.

Instead, a judge imposed a sentence that includes work-release jail time as well as three years of supervised probation. Additionally, an Interlock device must be installed in his vehicle for six months and he will need permission to travel out of state.

His work-release sentence begins Feb. 10.

Consider me impressed, he's exceptionally well-spoken and wise for any 21-year old. If his performance ends up matching his philosophy, I think Jim Palmer will be an apt comp.

That's not an accident. From what I can tell, Piecoro is the best baseball beat writer working today.

I think it's a very good period for baseball beat writers. One might even be tempted to call it a golden age of baseball beat writing.

I've been seeing many observers rate Hultzen a better prospect. I still like Bauer a lot, but I'm concerned about how many he walks, no matter how he justifies it. That's not gonna play in the show.

Also, on an unrelated prospect note, Nick Castellanos is hitting .413!
