Players from both teams trudged up and down one stairway in towels and shower shoes
Kudos to the tag on this one.
shitty old tarped-over stadium
I've been swimming in raw sewage. And I LOVE IT.
Didn't this used to happen at Fenway? Not counting the massive Manny Ramirez towel flush back-ups. Or was it just flooding from heavy rain?
I keep seeing the headline as "Ray Searage on clubhouse level creates postgame chaos."
The Coliseum officially has the stupidest corporate name of them all.
Northern California is a particular hotbed of stupid corporate names.
Then there's the Kings' "Sleep Train Arena". I didn't know what "Arco" is, but I knew it was probably a utility or maybe a company that makes routers and stuff. "Sleep Train", whatever that is, presumably a mattress retailer, is actively hostile to the idea of athletic excitement.
Flooding from heavy rain. The street behind the Boston clubhouse is 12 feet above sea level. The runway to the clubhouse is probably 11 feet below that. The Fens (the section of Boston that Fenway Park borders) is former swampland; no subway stations past Fenway are underground, to give you an indication of the circumstances. Pretty much annually, before recent renovations, the runway to the clubhouse would be at least shin deep with water, sometimes waist deep, in the spring. It wasn't so much flooding from heavy rain as much as the water table rising, but it's the same idea: not sewage.
the A’s and Mariners had to shower together
Strange, that in the 2000s they'd be dumping untreated sewage into the storm drain system.
In your world the players should be allowed to get away with taking and trafficking in illegal drugs, and the A's should be stuck in perpetuity playing in a shitty old tarped-over stadium filled with raw sewage that nobody wants to go to.
