3. Carlos Gomez, CF, Brewers: Season Stats: .367/.418/.644, 5 HR, 10 RBI, 4 SB
Prior to 2012, Gomez’s career-high in home runs was eight, and his .250/.305/.463 line last year represented career-highs in all three categories, so he is set up for a larger fall than most here. 1. Harveys WallbangersThose straws have to be grasped at.
Respect is earned, not given away like ad flyers on a street corner. Unfortunately, current colloquial usage attempts to make it mean "I didn't get my way--wahhhhh!" This dilutes it when it's used properly to communicate a much bigger, more important concept.
All your base are belong to him.
As I understand the rules, I am now forced to physically harm someone dear to you. Unfortunate.
Anything that brings up the legend of Bake McBride is worth grasping at.
I for one am glad this article was posted, as I had no idea that this guy existed, let alone that he had an excellent season, until now.
A story that riveted the nation's attention. Decades from now, grandchildren will ask their elders, "Where were you when Norichika Aoki tied Bake McBride's record of four hitting streaks of at least ten games by a National League rookie?"
Well played, unless you were in serious, in which case we link to Murray Chass so why not?
I followed the ad link to "Wisconsin Dairy News" hoping for some snark worthy content, and was shocked to find a blank page. No dairy news in Wisconsin? Seems disrespectful, to say the least.
C'mon guys, that was awesome! Would any of you have thought of that? No way. And does the DCDN pay a subscription to Stats, Inc or did the reporter do the legwork here? Or are the Brewers pimping this? Doesn't matter, this is a thing of sheer beauty. Now one of you get off your lazy butt and find the NL and AL record holders.
You can make a case for Aoki over Frazier.
I don't have a problem with that one. Offering Torii Hunter a contract Delmon Young would laugh at is, in fact, disrespectful. It is an overt act (where doing nothing would be perfectly acceptable) expressing the lack of value they place on his services. Might as well offer him an NRI and the locker next to Jeff Kent.
Not even a distant cousin to simply voting for someone else.
