Whoa...

I have two boxes full of old SEGA, NES, and even Atari 2600/5200 cartridges, as well the still functioning consoles... Was never hanging onto them for any particular reason - just seemed a shame to just give 'em away or toss 'em out... I don't even remember all the titles I had - I remember playing Earthbound, but don't recall if I had it or a friend.

Methinks I may be going through some old boxes and checking online tonight...

Fire Emblem for the 3DS is essentially this, although with perma death.

The 3DS game allows you to turn off perma death in any of the modes. Good luck finding it though, Nintendo didn't realize how popular this Fire Emblem was going to be(You can't really blame them, this is the 6th FE they released in America) and they had supply issues just getting it into stores.
