I've recently been thinking that a major problem with the love of pitch counts is that fewer pitchers are being pulled early when they don't have it. I have no idea if this is true, but it just feels that way at times, where you'll see a guy go 5 innings in a 10 run game.
I mean doesn't there come a point where you don't let your starting pitcher face 13 batters in an inning?
