You see a lot of this attitude around here too. You don't sign a guy to a 10-year contract with only the hope of winning in year 1. The Pujols and Wilson contracts may end up being mistakes, ranging from monumental to simple overpays, but you can't judge that yet. And while neither performed at the levels the Angels were hoping for, both had good seasons and weren't the reason the Angels missed the playoffs. That rests mainly with the pitching staff where Haren and Santana spit the bit.
Hmmm ... the Angels led the AL with a 116 OPS+.
And I can only assume the Cards are quite pleased with how the Matt Holliday contract has worked out.
Not the fans that want to see him benched in favor of Adron Chambers.
