And if he had never met Fernando Tatis, they'd be tied for grand slams allowed.

He had a solid career, but what I'll always remember most about him is this.

Sheesh, I didn't know he was still picthing in South Korea, and I have no recollection of him pitching for the Phillies, Yankees, and Pirates in 2009 and 2010. Seems like he retired five years ago.

I'm surprised that this doesn't happen more often.
I liked Park while he was with the Pirates. That was a pretty crappy team, and as a waiver claim he probably didn't want to be there, but he conducted himself like a pro's pro anyway. Played well, and didn't complain about the team or the city.
I enjoyed watching him pitch, and I hope retirement treats him well.

I think they should honor him the way the Tigers honored Charlie Bennett.
Which was surprising, because he didn't seem to have problems getting loose.

Kershaw had the same issue opening day this year. In retrospect, it might have cost him the Cy Young. He had to leave after 3 scoreless innings with 3 ks. He finished 1 strikeout behind Dickey for the league lead - if Kershaw doesn't eat the wrong thing the day before he probably passes Dickey in K's and leads the league in Ks and ERA, while Dickey only leads in innings pitched, and very slightly over Kershaw. Ah well, so awards depend on your server washing his hands properly.

Watching Mo being perplexed in the background makes it even funnier.
I'm Neutral on Park, but he did have the Drive to succeed over many years. He probably decided to retire when his career went in Reverse.

He's another player that Gammons overhyped. Like Donnie Sadler, who Gammons called "the waterbug." And I think Torey Lovullo and Junior Felix, back in the day.

Any list of players overhyped by Gammons has to include Toe Nash.

I thought the first post linked to a video of Park karate kicking Tim Belcher, and so the rest of this thread (and especially the last post that I quoted) didn't make any sense to me at all.
My favorite similarity scores are Satchel Paige's. I of course understand why his sim scores are broken, but I think you won't find two most similar players who are less similar than Satch and the journeyman middle reliever Bill Dawley.

No, no, no. This thread is for diarrhea jokes. Diarrhea.
That's a trivia answer I'm pretty sure I wouldn't have gotten correct.
Answer: His father.
Ichiro's sim lists are interesting, littered with players from 100 years ago.
Classic. My favourite part is when he says, "What? That's funny?" with a completely straight face.
And Mike Crudale.
This is no longer true. It broke my heart. DAMN YOU GREG GAGNE.
