I haven't seen a replay(watching it on mlbtv.com) so I can't say, it looked foul to me, but the Nationals didn't complain, so I'm guessing an illusion.

Really, you counter good pitching by getting hits, that is a good strategy?

Uggh. I hate the glove shuffle when it's not necessary. Too big of a chance of a mistake happening.

The announcer did bring up a good point though, it's become almost routine nowadays, probably to the point that it's practiced.

Things really going the Birds' way in the early going of Game 2.

Four-run lead with one out in the 4th... 17 outs to go without giving up four runs to even up the series.

EDIT: And Lynn looking like he can get all 17 of those outs.

Given the horrible bats on the Cards bench (although all are far, far better than Lynn, who's at the bottom end of the hitting-pitcher spectrum) I say leave the so-far-very-effective and bat-missing Lynn in there with a four-run lead. Pretend he was the starting pitcher.

I seem to recall that sac-bunt 1st-to-3rd as being specifically written about as originating in the Negro Leagues, from a book I can't remember the title of by a negro-leaguer I'm also forgetting.

a) It's not a shellacking until it is over.
b) The Cardinals have dominated the Nationals at Busch Stadium over time, so coming away with a split is really good, because the Nationals have a similar advantage over the Cardinals at home.
