Peavy smiles and says: “I try not to yell; I try not to swear. But at 7 o’clock every night, I turn into someone different. I’m out there trying to focus. I’m competing. I can’t control myself. But I have three little boys. I want them to be able to watch their daddy pitch without hearing all the yelling.

< 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 > Last ›Well, I do too. If it was up to me, the 1 game playoff for the Wildcard spot would have been best of 3. 3 days, 3 games. If you don't win in 2, you're going to play the LDS the day after you win the Wildcard spot, in which case, 5 games in 5 days. Don't like it? Win the ####### division.
Best of 23? I like it.
EDIT: Actually it was shallower that I thought.
I think sending him was the right call. With one out I think you get aggressive. The throw was absolutely perfect and he was just out.
Nice call, though.
It really did make sense for both parties at the time and has looked good for both since.
Even if it doesn't violate the CBA, it would probably tick off the tv contract as that will then figure into the scheduling of the games.
You would almost be forced into playing the team that traveled the previous night in the later game.
As someone who roots for both teams, I've been entirely happy with the deals. Good for everybody. Suzuki really needed to get out of Oakland, and I think he'll be a great match with Ramos next year. He is better when he has a little rest.
McCoy, Brad Peacock and AJ Cole were in the deal as well. Oakland needed depth more than Washington.
Depth is meaningless if it isn't at the major league level and or it is cromulent at the major league level.
This trade in time might become a win/win trade or even a huge win for the A's but it is way too premature to declare it a win/win afer only one season.
This one. She's sort of interested in baseball, to the extent of knowing which team to cheer, and asking me 'who won?' if she sees me watching a game.
I think there is a better chance of getting the run on the play than with Reddick due. Reddick whiffs a lot and with Crips's speed the Tigers have to be perfect to get him at the plate. To their credit they did but I like the move.
I always thought it was the second out. It makes the most sense to me.
Since he came over from Seattle. He has a 142 ERA+ in a season and a half with the Tigers.
I can see it either way. It was possible that they miss him at home and then there's two on, the run's in, and only one out, setting up a big inning.
Jim Johnson for the MVP. That's the craziest thing I've heard in a while.
