- We can do a hell of a lot better than some front-office quant job for 18K a year.
- And yet, there are those who would work for peanuts in a front office. Helen Zelman is (was?) with the Diambondbacks, and Joe Boehringer was a scouting director for them.
- The Sloan Sports Conference was (maybe still is) the top destination for hobnobbing with quant-minded execs, including MIT alum and Rockets GM Daryl Morey.
- MIT has a *ton* of sports teams. DIII, and almost all pretty bad. But sports are a huge thing at the 'tute.
- Yeah, you're talking to the guy who pitched his team to the 2007 Class IV intramural slow-pitch softball championships.
- Our fields are named after George Steinbrenner's father.
- Caltech can suck it.
How the hell did a Polack make it into MIT?
