USC is setting the gold standard for not showing up to play. 5 first downs so far in 50 minutes of football.
The whole Sun Bowl experience was a PR debacle for USC, who were too open about not wanting to be there. Then they lost, badly. Yes, some of it was that Max Wittek had a bad game, but seriously - he looked like no one had ever really coached him on how to be a QB. Isn't there something there that a coaching staff is supposed to accomplish, given someone who seems to have the appropriate physical tools?
As of a month ago USC had the consensus #1 recruiting class in the country despite the scholarship limits. I imagine his leash will be closely related to how well he keeps that class together and how his next one looks.
Yeah, but they're going to be coached by Lane Kiffin.
And on the hook for a $10 million exit fee to boot, if ESPN is correct.
Of course they are. Because they're idiots.
great job
Recruiting doesn't matter if you can't develop the players. And let's be honest, USC basically recruits itself. It's not like the next coach isn't going to be able to get top 10 classes as well.
Me too. That's the one I chose to start watching and then flipping from it. Michigan hasn't looked good so far, this might get out of hand.
Penn State and Ohio State being ineligible is the easy answer. As a Purdue fan, I figured this would be the worst team to ever play in a New Year's Day bowl game. Nothing so far has disabused me of that notion.
.at least since they took the Citrus Bowl monicker away.
Because no one has ever fellated the military at a football game before.
Purdue two best performances this season were losses against the only two unbeatens.
I think this is just bizarre. Being a big 12 fan if my team isn't playing I'll usually watch a Big 12 game over another league, like say OK St vs Purdue, even if the other league has "better" teams facing off. To me this seems to cannibalize your secondary audience.
The Georgia vs Nebraska game is a win/win for me, if Georgia wins those jerks in Nebraska lose, if Nebraska wins I gain in my bowl pool - confidence points compared to the other top teams.
Not much else to do when ESPN has the rights to all these games. They won't pair anything against the BCS games later, so its either move the game to a different day or kick off four games by 1:30 ET.
go figure
Not to argue that Ga Tech has a good defense, but I would like to point out that UNC finished 10th in the nation in scoring offense. They weren't bad.
see if they can hang on
