I can't wait for this current technological/social/hip/young trend to end. This is the most annoying one since those damn little e-pets people carried around. [/getoffmylawn]
I don't care if they twitter during the broadcast, but replying to the thousands of inane idiotic replys that they get will be a sad state of affairs. (not as bad as a two minute homage to Derek Jeter during the Cardinal/Cubs broadcast last night, but still)
Wild idea: just don't use Twitter. Aside from Conan's "Twitter Tracker" bit, Twitter really doesn't affect my life in the least. I don't understand how it could annoy someone if they aren't using it.
Dibble and Carpenter on the Nats broadcast are almost constantly on baseball-reference. They don't refer to it by name, but they often talk about looking things up themselves and then get the answer a few seconds later.
You would think it would be that easy, except most sports shows I tune into are using it & promoting it. It might be me, but it's hard in the world today to completely avoid something if everyone is pushing/promoting/using it.
I'm probably just too high strung.
I'm probably just too high strung.
And, ten years ago, everything had an AOL Keyword. I'm sure there'll be something new to annoy you if you're patient.
David Cone has been shouting out B-R and Fangraphs on Yankee telecasts lately.
And I'd bet Sean loves hearing people reference B-R, partly because it does help him get paid (presumably more page views).
Like Padma from Top Chef looking up baseball stats on B-R while being half naked?
Calling Wells a Tweeter would have meant you were in the same room as him, which would have left you vulnerable to bopping.
The Mets read an email earlier this year by someone asking how to calculate ERA. The funny thing is these people can use email (or twitter) but don't know how to use google.
I don't think that's so crazy, actually. For people who grew up without search engines like Google, if you wanted to find something like that out, you asked someone. Email provides an avenue for them to ask these questions.
I'm a college professor. And unfortunately, I can't reply this back to my students.
Hey, look it up...
You can always mute the morons and tune to the radio, or just mute everything and pay attention to the screen.
I love muting the game and listening to music. Or even playing music over the game. That way you'll still here the especially loud commentary, which is either the exciting parts or any time Chris Berman enters the booth.
It'd be nice if instead of trying to improve on incorporating Twitter into everything the broadcast team could just be working on improve at the fundamentals.
Its like a guy who can't shoot a 3 working on his windmill dunks.
That being said, I would love the chance to communicate with Mr. Sager while he is in the wardrobe room picking up his outfit for the day.
Kasper's on it all game for the Cubs too.
I'm assuming it would combine baseball, stats, and just a little skin.
In other words Sean watching a ball game while sitting at his computer wearing Ali Larter's whipped cream bikini from "Varsity Blues."
He's in Arizona. Comic Caliendo entertains D-backs: Noted impressionist takes batting practice with pitchers
