1 2 3 4 5 6 > Last ›The Broncos have an advantage in that the Jets had a very short week (and they even played Sunday night, not Sunday afternoon) in which to face an offense unlike any they've faced this year. I expect Tebow to pass against them even less than he did against the Chieves last Sunday - in the first half, at least. It's an open question what he'll do in the second half, when the Broncos are likely to be down something like 17-3. My guess is he throws three passes in the first half, and 15 in the second half, and the Jets roll 27-10.
I am a Redskins fan so, you know, enjoy that.
I think they were an 7 win team that should win 9-10 because of their hot start, but, you know, they're the Bills. It's how we do.
The last 2 weeks were a bad matchup followed by a bad game, I don't think this is exposing them as a mirage. They will struggle mightly against good defenses, because their only defense is ball possession, and when they can't keep the ball they can't keep the other team from scoring. Fortunately, other than the Jets again, there isn't a whole lot of D in the rest of their schedule.
Uh, no. The discussions about the Bronco's read option is about it's viability in the NFL. We already know it works at a high level in college.
the Ravens wins have come against teams that are a combined 24-17 against everyone else, and their losses against teams that are 8-16 vs everyone else
They're the anti-paper tiger. Scissor mouse?
Nothing that makes Tim Tebow happy is a good thing.
I'm torn over the greater good for humanity, which is to see Tim Tebow go down in flames vs. my want for more offenses to grab a footprint in the NFL landscape vs. my hatred of the Jets.
Do mean by a pick-6 or two? Doesn't Revis cover receivers very closely?
That's assuming Tebow has any idea where Revis is.
POSIT: The Jets shut down the Broncos veer attack and hold them to field goals at best in the first half.
POSIT: The Jets take a 10 point or more lead into halftime.
POSIT: Tim Tebow has to throw the ball in the second half.
ASSUMPTION: Tim Tebow's decision making and accuracy as a pocket passer makes Mike Vick look talented.
CONCLUSION: The only TD passes Tebow will throw will be to one of the Jets cornerbacks.
To the contrary, if a happy Tim Tebow makes you unhappy, that's another reason to look forward to it.
They'd better hope that McGahee is at (or close to) 100%, otherwise there's basically zero chance of that happening. If he can't go, they won't score more than 6 or 7 points tonight.
This. Revis isn't going to outscore Tebow, unless Sam wants to proclaim that Revis will recover a fumble and run it back. Tebow rarely throws interceptions because he rarely throws the ball.
Sam could be right if Tebow gets hurt on one of the many, many hits he takes before scoring a TD and then Brady Quinn or Kyle Orton come in and throw him a pick 6. Which is probably more likely to happen.
even if Tebow knew EXACTLY where Revis is, he couldn't hit him
He'll be covering a player that catches balls thrown to him in an offense that doesn't throw the ball. Revis should have a quiet night.
I think the Raiders were up by 10 at the half. That didn't work out for them.
Heck, Miami was up 15 with 5 minutes to play.
I mean, yeah, there are still plenty of ways that they might be able to sneak into the playoffs if they get their act together, but the fact is is that with all the injuries the Bills' lack of depth has been exposed, especially on the O-line. And I highly doubt that they'll be able to beat the Jets in the Meadowlands, and the only way I can see them beating the Pats in Foxboro would be if the Patriots had already clinched everything and were sitting everybody (and, in the past at least, that isn't something that the Hooded Enemy has done that much of).
As for Tebow's happiness, opening hospitals in the Phillippines makes him happy, so you can add that to the list of bad things.
Where he then goes and uses his god-warranted amateur physician skills to slice the foreskins off of little boys' wee wees. Color me less than impressed.
Yes Sam, I'm sure a 30 bed hospital will only be used for circumcisions and will serve no tangible benefit to people living in poverty.
Don't bother J. To Sam and other Tebow bashers, the only reason he went to the Phillippines was to pursue his semi-Sanduskian desires. That he, in all likelihood, simply did what the physician in charge asked him to do while the doc was performing a procedure that the overwhelming majority of male Americans have had performed on them is no defense to the genital mutilation shriekers.
So the verdict is still out on sex?
Bills are too thin to withstand numerous injuries which occur to almost every team. But the biggest injury was Stevie Johnson groin issue. He hasn't been the same player since. Without him they have no consistent receiving threat and are limited on offense which exposes the limitations on defense.
It's a step forward but they need to continue developing to compete in 2012.
Got it. In a league filled with serial abusers of women--not to mention a league that just this week saw a player convicted of vehicular manslaughter re-sign with the Redskins--clearly the outspoken Christian who builds third-world hospitals is the greatest monster around.
I find these kind of comments kind of funny based on the latest things that happened at Penn State. For the longest time, Joe Paterno was considered everything that was right in college football...and now look at him.
I am wondering if the Lions can can into the playoffs or not. Their schedule sets them up to be 10-6 or so. They got to win this Sunday against Carolina though.
I'm not holding Tebow up as the symbol of all that's right in the NFL. I'm saying he's objectively better than Donte Stallworth.
Interesting. Most news reports seem to paint this single-purpose circumcision clinic as though it were a 30-bed children's hospital.
10-6 looks like the optimistic view. They could easily be 8-8. They need to do a better job against the run and Stafford needs to retain the ball.
That is my second choice of outcome behind the Bears winning the Super Bowl.
Those guys really are insufferable. They were almost reason enough to root for the cheating Patriots in 07.
For the record I want Tebow to do great. I just don't think he will. I would love to see Mark Sanchez get out dueled by Tebow. Granted, that's not a high bar to jump over.
Is it? I'm about 15 miles from the stadium, and it's dead calm here.
Too bad the Colts have a bye this weekend. If and when they do win a game, I hope someone does a story on the 2008 Lions popping the corks on their champagne.
Do those guys really get together and pop champagne? I thought I had read somewhere that that wasn't really the case, but now I can't find it.
If so, then yes, I would call this the second choice of outcome behind a Bears Super Bowl victory.
That's what they're saying at the stadium. Of course that could change hours from now.
