    I'd like to say if I were rich, I'd buy that stupid thing and burn it, but I suppose I have too much respect for history to do that. I'd just buy it and lock it away with the specific instructions that it could never be displayed publicly.

    EDIT: And for good measure, I would test to make sure that's really blood, but never release the results. Always keep 'em guessing.

    I suppose if one was fixing to be really evil, you would buy it under the pretense of being a Red Sox fan, claim you were testing to "put all those stupid rumors to bed once and for all" and then never release the results and just deny whenvever asked that you intended to test it. That would really throw some doubt on things.

    I would digitize the sock and make a 1 dollar game app out of its digital image and make a profit. When I went public, I would send Schilling a prospectus so he could get in on the action. Then, with all the money I made from the public offering, I would start a Super-PAC and get Dennis Kucinic elected president in 2016 and get Kucinic to make me HUD secretary. Then I would use public domain to seize Schilling's house and build a tenement for welfare mothers.

    I claimed in one of the early 38 Studio bankruptcy threads that Schilling's most valuable asset was the bloody sock. I didn't mean it literally.

    Surely a level 99 capitalist like Schilling would see this opportunity to start up a mass produced bloody-sock selling company. I'm sure there are plenty of near-slave factories in China who could give him a whole lot of bloody socks on the cheap. Very bloody socks. Then he marks them up for resale to the American market.
