Why back in my day…there was nary a peep from Alfalfa Anderson!

Imagine that you’re right-hander Daniel Hudson of the Arizona Diamondbacks, in the midst of rehabbing from Tommy John elbow ligament replacement surgery, and you take a break. You head over to the drug store where you find a pack of Topps baseball cards, buy them and open them — just like when you were a kid. Except now you’re a major leaguer, and there’s your card! A head shot. And ... the pained expression on your face looks ...

Look at that, another innocent man pleading guilty. Pretty awesome justice system we have going.

I can't really tell if the D-backs are offering him a job with the organization or to sign him as a player. TFA never makes that clear.

6-2, 245 and he was in prison for a decade for a crime he didn't commit. I wouldn't want to be the first guy he takes a crack at on the practice field.

Apparently, Pete Carroll has invited him to a tryout and a couple other teams are considering it (Carroll recruited him when he - Carroll - was at USC).

Absolutely horrific story. I still hold a meaty grudge against a driver that cut me off three years ago.

There was an NPR piece on this last Friday. Banks basically had to dig up a PI to record the accuser saying that she had lied.

The interesting thing to me was that once Banks was released from prison, the accuser tried to friend him on Facebook.

The likelihood of him playing pro football is said to be very low. 9 years out of the game. He has no college education. Supposedly the accuser already blew through the $1.5M she and dear Mommy got from the Long Beach school system. Were the D-Backs one of the teams accused of being "too Christian"? I don't think so.

And if the NFL doesn't pan out? Banks already has all kinds of job offers. One of them is to "work in the front office and explore other sports opportunities" for the Arizona Diamondbacks.
