Goldschmidt leads the Majors in first basemen “scoops,” according to FanGraphs.com, with 73—nearly 20 ahead of any other at that position.
Clutch hitting may not be repeatable skill like CF defense, and I wouldn't bet on Goldschmidt doing it again, but I think he's a legit candidate.
I think Goldschmidt will finish second, but a very distant second.
Does anyone think Goldschmidt will finish below third at worst? It seems like it's going to go McCutcheon and Goldschmidt 1-2, unless Kershaw slips in ahead of him.
I don't know who this "McCutcheon" fellow is
McCutchen has pretty clearly been the best player in the league this year, so playoff contention doesn't need to enter into the consideration for the top spot.
Only the Colorado Rockies’ Todd Helton had a higher fielding percentage among NL first basemen

Goldschmidt was a fantasy MVP for sure.
