Bauer is hyper smart, analytical, and supremely talented. But he is going to have a rude awakening when he gets to the majors just how good the hitters are. It's going to be a biggeer adjustment for him than he thinks. Hopefully his confidence stays high and he keeps pounding the zone, even after he gives up the inevitable first tightly grouped slew of homers.
As usual, I don't think most people in Arizona appreciate just how good he is at his job.
I have Bauer in a my keeper league at a dirt cheap price so I hope he comes in and dominates everybody, but I suspect you're right. It seems like he's been getting along because he's simply far more naturally talented than most anybody else, whatever the window dressing. He's very cerebral, but I get the feeling he's early-career-Zack-Greinke cerebral at this point, rather than good cerebral just yet. I hope he makes the adjustment, he's a great prospect and seems like an interesting, thoughtful guy. But your brain can hurt you in sports, you've got to learn to control it just like any other part of your body.
