Not someone else's vomit?
Not someone else's vomit?
Most Brave fans seem happy with the decision, fwiw.
I'd be delighted if I was a Braves fan. As you say, if the Braves are going to win this series, they have to beat Kershaw. I sure as hell like my chances of beating him on 3 days rest better than on normal rest.

This move really shows why there shouldn't be a day off between Games 4 and 5. If you're going to go to the three-man rotation, there should be down-staff repercussions. But the extra day off allows a team's No. 2 to start Game 5 on full rest.
If there were down-staff repercussions, it probably becomes too costly to try. This is the right balance. You get a slightly less effective Kershaw (maybe) but that's offset by moving your #2 up.
If the regular season is supposed to measure roster depth, then why not accentuate it in the postseason as well, at least in a best-of-five?
Best of 5 series should be played 5 straight days on a 3/2 format. Best of 7 should have an off-day after game 6, played in a 3/3/1 format.
Nope. I would at least like to see the #1 seed get all 5 at home. And put me down for no off days during the series, however the games are distributed.
Or that the Sun sets three hours later in the West, which I admit still steams me the more I think about it.
3-3-1 is genius, and you've now ruined every 7 game series for me until this gets implemented. Unfortunately I don't see the team w/ HFA giving up the elimination game, so 3-2 won't work. And my desire for the better team to get all 5 home games is never going to happen either.
No one would ever do this because the team on the wrong end of a sweep would only get the gate for one game.
Kimbrel needed to be in there in the 8th in an elimination game. Day off the next day too. That was bad usage.
(Nobody tell him about Alaska, especially the really northern part)
Yes, the Braves lost this game largely because of conventional bullpen usage that said Kimbrel couldn't pitch to the Dodgers 3/4/5 hitters because it wasn't the 9th inning. As it was, Avilan and Carpenter pitched to Hanley/AGon/Puig/Uribe and only managed one out.
he could go out there to face the heart of the lineup
