I posted this story because they mentioned it on the Slate Hang Up and Listen Podcast, because apparently Walton contacted a Slate writer. The writer contacted a coach Walton referenced and the coach said that yes, Walton had tried out, but couldn't even finish the running exercises, and it was pretty clear the kid had not had a lot of baseball experience. Amazing.
