Is Braggs the one that supposedly posted here once? Or was it Glenn Brock? I always confuse those two.

I must've accidentally done something about a year ago--and I can't figure out how to remove the bookmark.
So, I'm guessing Bender wasn't at the World Series because Connie Mack only wanted to pay train fare for players who were actually going to play? I know he did stuff like that to save money in the 1930's, but it would be interesting if he was doing it in the 1913 World Series.
That's still done today, isn't it: send the next starting pitcher on to the next city so he can get over jet-lag, acclimate to climate and altitude, have three-way centaur trysts, or whatever.
