Oakland so far in the 1st inning against the White Sox:
14--No such luck! It's projected #2 starter Jose Quintana.
1. Mickey Lolich (105 walks, 97 hits)
This makes him the answer to one of my favorite impossible trivia questions.
Is Lolich the only player to hit his only career home run in post-season play?
Nope. Don Gullett homered in Game 1 of the 1975 NLCS but never in any other Major League game. He also singled in another run and pitched a complete game to kick off what would be a sweep of the Pirates. A pretty good day.
(There may be other such pitchers, Gullett is just the first one I've found.)
