I love Dynasty League Baseball and have played it for years. I love it so much I provided a free ad for the game this season to thank Mike Cieslinski for the many years of enjoyment I’ve gotten from the game. At some point I will do an in-depth review of the game for the site to so you can get a better idea about the game’s strengths and weaknesses.

1 2 >I'm surprised they don't seem to have interest. McD was the one who drafted him in the first place.
That must be why they signed Drew Stanton.
Tebow's ego wouldn't accept a backup position like that.
Which is why I have a hard time seeing the Patriots taking him. They're certainly not going to do #1. And doing #2 doesn't fit what they do. Bill Belichick is not going to take the ball out of Tom Brady's hands to have Tim Tebow throw the ball.
I disagree with this. Tebow is unlikely to be very high on the QB depth chart in New England. Probably 3rd but maybe as low as 4th. That doesn't mean he doesn't see some snaps in games if he plays with the Pats. But we're talking a VERY low number of snaps. Say 4 to 8 over the course of the season.
1) Eventually, the trickiness loses effectiveness over time as the league adjusts
2) Tebow probably makes better decisions than Stewart did, but he has a far worse arm
The NFL is so system oriented on offense and defense, I think it's really hard to be truly innovative because the personnel you have is so committed to the system that you're currently using. Basically requires a complete revamp of the team and who can afford to take that kind of a risk as a GM and head coach?
Why would the Pats give up anything for a guy they are going to use 4 to 8 times during the course of a season? Theoretically Tebow has SOME trade value. If the Pats give the Broncos anything for him that signifies intent to use him a lot more than that.
Also, Kordell was in more of "Smashmouth" type era, whereas now passing is king in the NFL.
I wonder if teams are fearful of bringing him in because of how popular he is with a segment of the fanbase, and how they feel it might tie their hands down the road if it's not working. That would be a shame - I'd like to see a team really commit to him and see how it works. It makes for a more interesting game.
They just spend a top ten pick on their QB, who some considered a top five pick last year. I don't think their GM (who said he would pass on Tebow in the draft) thinks he is awful.
Miami makes a bit more sense. That organization is in disarray and the fans are about to revolt. They could use something exciting if they're not going to win. Tebow + Bush in an option offense is kinda intriguing.
I know GMs don't matter as much in football, but how does a bad one like Smith survive an ownership and coaching change? I don't get it.
I'm guessing they use him very infrequently as a QB. If he's on the Pats, he has to play a different position for the bulk of his plays. I'd guess if he was going to play H-Back, he'd play somewhere between as much as Edelman plays and Gronk/Hernandez.
All of this is to say that I don't think the Pats will sign him. IF THEY DID, he wouldn't be a QB except very infrequently, as I posted above. He'd have to play a different position.
They are in the hunt, at least according to ESPN.
I think they're merely doubling down on last year's mistake. It's not that Gabbert can't improve - I'm sure he will. I just doubt he's ever anything meaningful.
I know, I just think it's just such an obvious move for them that they should be the only ones in the hunt.
For a fourth round pick too, a not insignificant pick.
Don't get caught twice.
by the way, don't we have an NFL thread somewhere? not that i care, i hate football. one of the reasons i had no regrets about leaving new orleans.
I think the Jets new offensive philosophy and the hiring of Sparano are misguided, but they are what they are. If the Jets want their offense to be heavily dependent on the running game, Tim Tebow can help them do that more effectively.
Well, except for the pretty big extension they just gave him.
It's moot now, but 4-8 snaps goes without saying. I'm talking about an actual commitment to using Tebow.
The Jets. Ha.
It's the classic marriage of a god-fearing quarterback and satan worshiping coach!
Not really. They increased his guaranteed money over the next two years by $2.5M total, the rest is non-guaranteed money that looks nice in a headline but will never been seen. And it lowered his cap hit.
I think Sanchez doesn't get cut unless Ryan gets cut. For whatever reason, the ownership is keeping Ryan around. I'm glad he's not the coach of my team. I've got to think that for the reason DA Baracus points out (they're not into Sanchez for big money), if they don't win this year, Ryan is out and so is Sanchez.
Yeah, but if Sanchez is playing badly, and the team is struggling, Ryan's gonna make a change and try and save his ass.
If they're 2-3 after five games, and Sanchez is playing poorly, he'll bench Sanchez, and they'll still be time to save the season.
Cam Newton says hello.
------
Fair point, all, about the extension. I think you're brushing it off a bit lightly, though; whether or not the actual dollar amounts show confidence, it does serve as a very public endorsement of Sanchez.
From afar, probably better for the Jets, whose fan base seems to trend much more Long Island and New Jersey, than for the Giants, who seem to be more NYC/Manhattan-centric.
Northern NJ is all Giants. Southern NJ is all Eagles. There are almost no Jets fans in Jersey.
I think this is the part of the NFL that people are missing. The evolution of QBs isn't Tim Tebow, its Cam Newton. At best, Tebow can be the homeless version of Cam Newton.
