Is this really true?
Read More...Baseball teams change at a glacial pace. I’m not talking about how a team does in a given season…that can change quite dramatically…I’m talking about what a team is: the broad scope of a team’s talents, their strengths and weaknesses. A team that’s good at converting a double play generally stays good at turning the double-play, just as a team with a terrible bullpen can’t make that bullpen a strength, at least not quickly. A team that gets lots of production ...

Where did your long hair go
Where is the closer we used to know
How could you lose the arm to throw
Oh, Brian Wilson no
Who took your health away
I remember how you used to play
You were the best, but that's not true
Oh, Brian Wilson you
Break my heart
I want to go and cry
Its so sad to watch your career die
Oh, Brian Wilson why
Could you ever find in you again
The chance to close the ninth again
Could you ever get it back once it has gone
Oh, Brian Wilson no
just to check out the late-night reliever shop.
Call it impulsive, call it compulsive, call it insane;
but when I'm surrounded I just can't stop.
I can't do it.
But if you don't, we won't know what you've got!
And his struggles were exclusively against LHB. RHB hit 191/270/246 against him, and he's still throwing 93, both of which suggest he still has some stuff.
Use him as a non-closer where he can avoid LHB more (no one carries PH anyway) and he could be very good.
That's nuts...
(allegedly whacks benji in the head with a 2x4)
I was hoping they would bring Hairston back, if only to anger Lassus, but he reportedly wants a 2-year deal worth $8M, and I don't see that happening. Any non-Bay warm bodies in the OF would help at this point.
Don't make me come over there.
Anyone who likes the Beach Boys should check out the TAMI concert online (YouTube). The Rolling Stones and James Brown were on the bill, and the Beach Boys rocked out pretty hard, as well.
Hairston at 2/8 might seem like a lot for the Mets right now, but they really have no OF right now, and the ones that they do have all hit left handed. They're probably going to try and wait him out and see if they can do one year and an option or something.
I read about ten posts into this thread before realizing it wasn't about Paul Wilson.
