Immediately to the left of the linked article in the Toledo News-Bee, March 13, 1913:
[Mud Hens third baseman] Herman Bronkie is sporting a badly bruised face. Herman was dashing through the Pensacola woods on a fiery steed in pursuit of fox and ‘possum Wednesday night, when his features came in contact with a low tree limb. Herman was knocked from the nag and given a series of bruises on his face and head.
Wait, so was it a nag or a fiery steed? Either way, watch out for that tree!
