The league was hit with exceptionally poor weather this year
If interleague play doesn't increase ticket sales, is there a chance that the new commish could do away with it? Does anyone actively enjoy it?
It would require another realignment or expansion. 15-team leagues mean that there needs to be constant interleague play.
I don't think you need to play nearly half your games against your division to have meaningful division rivalries.
Is no one else sick of seeing the same teams over and over again?

I also like the unbalanced schedules as they are, especially with the second wildcard. Winning your division matters, and if you #### the bed in your 76 games against your division then you deserve not to win your division. Moreover, it engenders very strong rivalries between divisional opponents and has a major impact on the race for the postseason. And it's not like an extra west coast road trip is going to make things more exciting than a series against a team you have a strong history with.
The one form of realignment I wouldn't mind seeing would be to split the MLB map into time zones and put the Easternmost teams all in the AL and the Westernmost teams all in the NL.** That would allow a lot more people to be able to watch a lot more of their home team's games without missing either a lot of sleep or a lot of work. All of the biggest existing intraleague rivalries would remain in place, and if you eliminated interleague play it would give a much stronger emphasis to the now-nearly nonexistent league rivalry, and make nearly every World Series into a mini-sectional war. Other than a paper homage to a history that's being forgotten more and more with each passing year, I can't think of a single solid objection to the idea.
The season ends as the sixth-highest all-time and the league was quick to point out that all of the top 10 seasons in attendance have been over the last decade.
With the hyper-unbalanced schedule we have now, you see any team out of your division only once or twice a year, so what's the difference if they are in the same league or a different league?
