The timing for our first year electing 4 candidates could not have worked out better, since class of 2013 is the strongest in terms of electees that we’ve ever had. The top of the 1934 ballot included Ty Cobb, Tris Speaker, Eddie Collins, Pop Lloyd, Smokey Joe Williams and Cristobal Torriente, but only 2 were elected.

< 1 2Frank Chance as the backup catcher is almost as silly as no backup catcher. The backup catcher is obviously Johnny Kling. And you still have only 1 OF on the bench. Yes, most of the Cubs secondary value is in the IF, but a team with 2 1B, 2 2B, 1 SS, 1 3B, and 1 OF on the bench is ridiculous.
