I'm mildly surprised he's that young: I don't remember him as a player. I started to follow baseball in 1967, but the National League, and with the attention of an eight-year-old. Colavito, like Don Drysdale, broke in very young and retired relatively young too. He's a little younger than my father would be now, and his son is in the same profession I'm in.
