I watched that game last night and it was a great game. I don't know why, but I knew Giambi was going to hit the HR there. I just felt it in my bones for some reason.
I have this gut feeling that Giambi is going to be a very successful manager, who will win a couple of pennants and will take the Joe Torre route to Cooperstown (yes, I know Torre is not in yet, but he will be inducted one of these days).
Nick Swisher called it “The greatest win of my life”, even though this is a picture of Swisher winning the World Series.
Jason Giambi, you magnificent bastard.
Giambi is baseball's favorite lumbering veteran now that Jim Thome isn't around, and on Tuesday, he lumbered some magic in the American League Wild Card race:
I wonder why the Rockies hired Weiss instead of Giambi.
if you committed this EVULLLLL Crime Against Baseball, why does it ok, sometimes, if you cry about it?
Nobody cares if you aren't desecrating sacred home run numbers.
I believe the ballboy actually had more success at the plate in the 2009 playoff run than Swisher. At least he didn't make bushels full of outs.
I looked it up, to make sure my memory was good. Nick "hit" .133 that Series, with five strikeouts in 15 ABs.
What would happen if an umpire called the batter/runner out for making contact with teammates before touching the plate. TECHNICALLY, that's not allowed, right?
given the choice I'd much rather hire Giambi than Weiss to manage my baseball team, because based on their backgrounds I feel certain Weiss will manage pretty much like every other manager, whereas with Giambi there's at least the possibility he'll think outside the box.... Especially in the Rockies' position I'd much prefer the greater risk/greater reward proposition.
