That seems like a mistake. In the other thread I said that Sandy might be a good fit because of his ties to the glory years and "what the hell", but I think Hargrove is too much of a look to the past and an attempt to relive the 90s. But it's cool that he's still a northeast Ohio guy and stays engaged with the team.

I have a hard time seeing any team give Hargrove another chance after he walked out on Seattle.

If Sandy becomes the manager, he needs to add a bunch of the mid-90s Indians to his coaching staff. Albert Belle as hitting coach, Manny Ramirez as bench coach, Jose Mesa as pitching coach and Omar Vizquel in some role.

Omar Vizquel in some role.

I would bet Omar would make a pretty good third base coach. One of his strengths at short was he always seemed to know how much time he had to make a play which suggests a good reading of the speed of runners and the batted ball. That seems like a combination that would make for a good 3B coach.

A friend of mine who works for a travel agent, says she just got a call from a Tito Francona requesting a vacation spot "Anywhere where there is no cell phone reception".
